CASINO ADVANTAGE DOESN'T MATTER

The casino has an advantage resp. the house edge.

The casino advantage is a result of the casino not paying winning wagers according to the game's true odds, which are the payouts that would be expected considering the odds of a winning wager.

The house edge of casino games varies with the game, even within the same game.

Let's take a look at the house advantage of some popular casino games.

  • Roulette

If you bet one single number:

European or French roulette wheels have one "zero" (0) and 36 non-zero numbers. You bet 1 unit on a single number, your chances of winning is 1/37, however, in case of winning you only receive back 36 units, the casino keeps 1 unit. Therefore, the house edge is 1/37 = 2.7%.

In American roulette, there are two "zeroes" (0, 00), the casino keeps 2 units, the house advantage is 2/38 = 5.26%.

  • Blackjack

The casino advantage in blackjack comes from the fact that if you bust, you lose, regardless of whether the dealer subsequently busts.

The house edge in blackjack changes with the types of bets, but usually all less than 1%.

  • Craps

If you bet 1 unit on Pass Line, your odds to win:lose = 244:251. But if you win, you get paid out only with 1 unit. Therefore, the house edge is (251-244)/(251+244) = 1.41%

If you make a single roll bet, say on 11, your odds to win:lose = 1:17. In case of win, you get back only 16 units, that's to say, the house edge is 2/18 = 11.11%.

The casino advantage is set up by law/regulation and casino itself. It's a fact, it will be always there and it can be never overcome or eliminated.

But the good news is, it will not stop you from winning in the end and in the long run.

Why?

Because the casino advantage is actually a "commission" on your winnings, 2%, 5% or whatever, it will lessen your winnings, but it does not take away all your winnings.

Casinos provide the location or websites, all games and staff, and it's just too fair to get a "commission" for all these!

So, it's okay with the house edge, it's not a big deal.

Another question: What if there was no casino advantage at all or even let you have an advantage over it? Will you win in the end?

Think it for a while...

I don't think so, you still will lose.

Because it's just a minor advantage, the casino has other big advantages over you:

  1. Casino and its games operate strictly according to its plan and rules. No matter how much you win or lose, in other words, no matter how much it wins or loses, it does not care at all and never gets emotional, because it's not a human, it has the total discipline.

  2. Casino has a strict stop-loss plan. Every game or table has betting limits, it's actually the casino's way to stop losses. Without it, all casinos in the world would be broke already.

These are casino's big hidden advantages.

With them casinos are able to take an advantage of human weakness such as greed and lack of self-discipline. They just give you opportunities to play and to defeat yourself, over time, you will lose and lose badly.
